The beginnings of our family business date back to 1992, when we registered a supplementary activity on the farm.First, we started processing our own milk, about 300 l per day – now we process about 2,500 l of milk per day, which is 800,000 liters of milk annually. The milk we process is produced on three local farms, which are no more than 15 km away. The specialty of our production is the fact that our cheeses are made out raw, non-homogenized milk: “Baron” and “Falot” are our national brands.

The company processes milk into high-quality, rich-tasting products. The specialty of our production are cheeses made from raw, non-homogenized milk, i.e. our own brands Baron and Falot alltogether with fresh Falot cheeses and full-fat cottage cheese made from raw milk and sour whey.
The rich range of homemade products consists of butter, sweet cream crust/kajmak, grilled cheese, sour cream, sour milk, plain yogurt and with fruit additives, as well as Baronica albumen cottage cheese, which is made from 100% whey.
In 2017, we at Sirarna Čuš d.o.o. obtained the IFS certificate: “The IFS food standard examines products and production processes, with the aim of assessing the ability of the food producer to produce safe, authentic and quality products in accordance with legal requirements and customer specifications […]” (Hrana (ifs-certification.com).
The company is also very proud of the “Izbrana kakovost Slovenije kmečki” certificate, which guarantees that milk products are of Slovene origin, purchased from a maximum of 15 farms, which must not be more than 25 kilometers away from the place of processing, and that traditional manufacturing processes are used for the milk production.Cheeses are made from raw milk, and fermented products from non-homogenized milk.
